Tell lawmakers to invest in quality nursing home care now!

Across New York, many nursing homes are operating in aging buildings that are increasingly difficult to maintain. Outdated infrastructure threatens the ability of facilities to meet modern standards of care.

Without targeted capital support, facilities most in need of modernization often cannot access financing, leaving vulnerable residents in deteriorating conditions and communities at risk of losing essential care.

Aging doesn't care about politics. Democrat, Republican, or independent, we all grow older, and we all deserve care in environments that protect our dignity and quality of life.

Join us: tell Albany to fully restore cuts to capital reimbursements and create a community reinvestment fund to upgrade aging nursing homes and protect seniors' health, dignity, and quality of life.

Together, we can ensure that seniors and caregivers are surrounded by support, dignity, and care when they need it most.
I am writing to express my deep concern about the deteriorating condition of many nursing homes across New York. Too many facilities caring for our most vulnerable residents are operating in buildings that are 40, 50, or even 60 years old, with aging infrastructure that is increasingly difficult to maintain.

Safe Buildings mean safe care. Every day, vulnerable seniors rely on nursing homes not just for housing, but for essential medical care, housing, and support, and facilities most in need of upgrades cannot access traditional financing.

No New Yorker should fear that a loved one is too hot in summer, or too cold in winter because essential upgrades were never funded.

I urge you to prioritize funding for a dedicated Nursing Home Capital Improvement Fund in the New York State Budget. This fund will:

- Modernize aging infrastructure
- Improve safety and quality of life for residents
- Preserve local access to long-term care
- Support our healthcare workers
- Strengthen New York's ability to care for residents and seniors

Investing in modern, resilient facilities is not a luxury, it is essential to protecting residents, supporting caregivers, and preserving access to care statewide.

Please act now to protect seniors and ensure that New York's nursing homes remain safe, modern, and capable of providing the care families depend on.

Thank you for your leadership and attention to this urgent issue.
