Speak up for Canada's remaining native grasslands

Canada is down to the last 20% of its native grasslands. These landscapes still support grassland birds, pollinators, Swift Foxes and other wildlife, but they continue to shrink under pressure from land conversion and development.

The Issue

Grasslands provide nesting, shelter and feeding habitat for wildlife, and only about 20% of Canada's native grasslands remain. What is left is important for species at risk and prairie ecosystems.

The Canadian Wildlife Federation is working to support practical conservation, habitat conservation and partnerships that help keep remaining grasslands intact.
