Inquiry re interest level of onsite after school care in Menlo Park
An ad hoc committee comprised of Menlo Park parents interested in the establishment of onsite after school care facilities would like to request your help in assessing the community need for such services.
We are using this petition format as an inexpensive, efficient vehicle for soliciting community feedback related to the need for onsite after school care on our Menlo Park elementary school campuses.
Besides private nanny care, the current options for Menlo Park families include the Burgess After School Center (which only had 6 openings this year) and Our School (which is also at capacity).
We want to be clear that this is not a petition of demand. This petition has not been circulated at the request of the City or District, nor should it be considered official in any way.
We are using this approach only as a preliminary, information gathering tool. Accurate, comprehensive feedback, we hope will enable our community leaders to take appropriate action based on hard facts.
By filling out the attached survey (viewable, with detailed information requested once you go to the signature portion) you will help the us, the City, and the District assess the real need of onsite care.
Though we cannot say with certainty what the possible fee or timing schedule of an onsite facility might be, the fee schedule below has been incporporated to help you assess your possible interest level. This fee schedule is based on an existing program at a nearby District. k- 3rd grade:
