Join Us To Help This Community Recover From Devastating Flooding

Earlier this month, Beattyville, Kentucky was underwater. Overwhelmed by heavy rains, the Kentucky River flooded most of the small mountain town's downtown with six to seven feet of brown water.

The historic flooding has devastated the area. Families' homes have been significantly damaged. Small businesses are dealing with lost inventory and ruined infrastructure. 45 of the 50 downtown businesses are closed due to flooding.

Beattyville needs our help. To repair homes and businesses, and restore its community.

Americans Helping Americans is stepping up with $85,000 in grant funding to assist dozens of families, and an additional $50,000 to assist numerous small businesses in the downtown area which have been forced to close down.

Our mission is to join communities, build and strengthen neighbor relations, and work side by side with residents to address community-wide concerns linking resources supportive of a healthy, safe and economically vibrant standard of living in Appalachia. But we can't do this alone.

While Beattyville is struggling today, it's only a matter of time until the next community faces similar struggles. Americans Helping Americans will be there to help — but the support of people like you is crucial.

Sign and join Americans Helping Americans and show your support for helping communities like Beattyville, Kentucky recover.
