Killing the World

My name is Napatra Watcharaporn or Nancy. I'm an 8th grade student from International School Bangkok in Thailand. I am concerned about people who are not ethical on buying furniture or things that are made out of old growth wood. (Ethical- in meaning of whether we know that what we do is right and what is wrong.)

I have an important question to ask you-Have you ever thought about where your wooden furniture came from? Well, I guess many of you including myself (before) didn’t really care about where the wood came from.

In my opinion, I think that the reason why people buy old growth forest wood is because it is more classy because it seems to be more vintage. Old growth forest woods can be woods of any type but it has existed for hundreds and thousand of years. For some people, I can observe that old growth woods are the one they choose because the furniture can make them feel like their homes are part of a forest or having a feeling of nature.

You can surely feel good about buying things that does not have an effect to nature. But the problem is will you help?
