The Special Police Task Force is a squad consisting of 6-10 Special Police Officers who respond to housing properties in the District of Columbia that contract Special Police Officers to serve and protect. One of the major issues housing properties who contract Special Police Officers to serve and protect their residents is that there are not enough Officers to %u201Cback%u201D each other up, resulting in calling MPDC via cell phone to get assistance. While speaking with MPDC dispatch the response time is around ten minutes, that%u2019s ten minutes too long. The Special Police Task Force can do routine mobile patrols of properties and be equipped to handle multiple suspects and offer assistance to those Special Police Officers who need it most.
