Hydration is very important. Our bodies are made up of 70% water. It's even more important to replenish fluids that are lost through sweat during physical activity. That is why I was shocked to find that the Fit4Less that is attached to the corporate office for GoodLife Canada does not have a water fountain. I wrote an email to express my concerns and received a very rude and condescending reply. I was informed that there was bottled water that could be purchased at the front. Bottled water is extremely expensive and this isn't very environmentally friendly when you can just have a water fountain that members can use to fill a water bottle of their own or just grab a quick drink.
I was told that the lack of water fountain was done to keep membership cost down. I understand they are trying to provide a very low-cost gym membership but when you have money spent on an alarm system that goes off if weights are dropped, I feel money for a water fountain would have been a better use of membership fees.
They have hydro massage beds and chairs that use water jets to massage the body but not a water fountain to provide members with clean drinking water while they work out.
Make no mistake. I'm doing this out of spite. I did not appreciate the rude response and I can not wrap my head around the fact that a gym doesn't have a water fountain.
I want them to install a water fountain. And I want to be the one that made them do it. I opened the emergency door when I left and the alarm went off and everyone looked at me and I felt stupid so this is my way of getting back at them. You may think this is petty and you'd be correct.
