Protect Parental Status
The Protect Parental Status Initiative is a national campaign designed to create our nation's first substantive public policy toward parents. Aimed at curbing incidences of discrimination in education, healthcare, welfare, child custody, employment, and housing, PPSI seeks to strengthen and support the position of America's nurturers and caregivers.
We, the undersigned, do hereby affirm our support for our nation to affect a substantive public policy that protects parental involvement and autonomy.
As such, we believe the most reasonable course of action would be for policymakers at the local, state, and federal level to enact clear and defining language in our civil rights statutes to prohibit discrimination based on Parental Status in areas of education, employment, health care, welfare, child custody and housing--in order to fully support the role and responsibilities of fit, caring parents in the nurture of their children, absent findings of abuse or neglect.
