This Turkey Farm Dyes Turkeys Bright Colors to Attract Visitors

Each November, families flock to Gozzi's Turkey Farm in Guilford, Connecticut, to buy live or freshly killed turkeys for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, that's not the only abuse turkeys experience at the farm. To attract more customers and entertain children, Gozzi's Turkey Farm dyes the feathers of several turkeys and keeps them in a pen for visitors to gawk at.

Families travel for miles to see the technicolor turkeys, thinking that this is innocent, playful fun. But it's not fun at all. It's cruel.

Sign the petition now to demand Gozzi's Turkey Farm stop dyeing turkeys now.

The fact that this practice is used to entertain kids is disturbing. Kids need to be taught that animals are living beings who deserve respect and humane treatment. Dyeing them bright colors does not send that message. It teaches kids that animals are entertainment and fosters callousness towards these living beings. In fact, one Yelp review even points out that kids have been known to ignore no feeding signs that are posted at the farm and throw "anything they can find" at the turkeys to eat, potentially harming these turkeys even further.

It's unclear whether the dye used is non-toxic, but either way, the experience cannot be pleasant for the turkeys. They must undergo tremendous stress while being dyed.

Animals are not entertainment. Please sign now to urge Gozzi's Turkey Farm to retire this cruel, outdated practice now.
