Elijah Gonzalez is a 22 month old child with brain cancer. He has already endured five months of chemo and other treatments and surgeries. He relapsed only three months after the chemo. The family learned of a drug called Tazemetostat that has shown great promise in other children with AT/RT. However, the trial for the drug did not open
to new patients. The family have the support of Elijah's neoro-oncologist, but the company Epizyme has denied the neoro-oncologist's numerous requests for immediate and compassionate use of the drug.
This could save Elijah's life. For a company to deny a sick child the right to use a drug that could save their life, possibly connected to their interests in money, is absolutely unnacceptable. Please, please, please allow the immediate and compassionate use of Tazemetostat to save Elijah's life.
