We Must Pass The Natural Resources Management Act

  • by: Judy Molland
  • recipient: The U.S. House of Representatives

Finally, some good news for the U.S! On February 12, the Senate passed the biggest conservation legislation in a decade, protecting over 2.3 million acres of public lands and water. Even better, the bill passed by a vote of 92 to 8, proving that bipartisanship is not dead.

In the spirit of bipartisanship, the Natural Resources Management Act was introduced by Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski and Democratic Senator Maria Cantwell and its passage was startling in an administration which has so far been devoted to stripping away environmental protections.

Trump has indicated that he will sign this bill into law, but first we need the House to also pass the Natural Resources Management Act, after Representatives return from their mid-February recess.

We urge all Representatives to pass this important act, so that we may preserve our beautiful wild spaces.
