When Cosmos the poodle was just a little
8-month-old puppy, his mom brought him to a doggy daycare center in Florida for a day. Shortly after, the owner texted her a picture saying that her pup had tried to gnaw on a metal bowl, leaving him with a cracked tooth.
At the time, she thought the explanation sounded suspicious, but she didn't press further. Instead, she focused on getting her beloved dog well and getting him emergency veterinary care.
His cracked tooth turned out to also be a broken jaw. He needed two surgeries.
Now, months later, she's learning that Cosmos was likely violently abused by the Wanderlust Dogs owner. Sign the petition to protect future dogs from the owner of this Florida doggy daycare center!Authorities contacted Cosmos's mom, saying they were conducting an investigation into Wanderlust and its owner. Apparently, multiple pet parents had contacted officials about strange injuries and other evidence of abuse.
Detectives now believe that the owner actually punched little Cosmos right in the face. After interviewing current and former employees, authorities have a clearer picture of what happened. The daycare owner was alone in a room with Cosmos.
Then employees heard a screaming yelp and a crashing sound. Next, they found the little dog "bleeding, disoriented and in distress," according to a detective on the case.
Authorities have arrested the man, charged him with animal cruelty, and have stated their intentions to shut down Wanderlust and revoke his business license.
We also need to ensure he is prevented from ever working with, adopting, or living with animals again in the future! Sign the petition!
