The United Airlines Seaside Hotel was a hotel that was owned by United Airlines that served to host crew members during their layovers in Honolulu, Hawaii. This hotel also provided space available accomodations to off duty employees, retirees, and family during their vacations to Waikiki.
The "New United" SOLD our Hotel in Waikiki and laid off the employees. They did this without ANY notification to the hotel employees or the employees of United Airlines. It has served thousands of employees and their families. Their have been employees working in this hotel for nearly 3 decades and it has been their life only to be given 2 week notice to find a new job.
We would have liked for it to continue serve our family at United. If they gave the employees/retirees a head's up they would have given us an opportunity to purchase the hotel or find a viable solution to keep the hotel in our family and continue the positive lifestyle culture we want to continue at the New United Airlines.
We the undersigned, as employees, retirees, family members, and friends of the Seaside Hotel, would like to ask that United Airlines please reconsider their descion to sell this hotel. We ALL have been impacted in a positive way by this hotel and its staff. We recognize the viability of having a hotel already paid for reserved for our airline family. By signing our names below, we would like answers. We care not just for ourselves, but for the staff who have become part of our families over the many years and how this late notice will impact their lives.
