Continued Child Support for Mental & Physcially Challenged

When a child w/ special needs turns 21 they can no longer go to high school. At that time the parent who pays child support is no longer obligated to pay for said child. However, the child STILL needs financial support even IF they can get and maintain a job. Most will never be able to live independently or to take care of bills etc. For that to be that way is wrong on so many counts. ALso if the said child lives with one parent and that parent remarries etc. The husband's income is counted even though he is NOT the biological father. His income is counted toward the child. The parent who pays child support gets off easy as his wife's income isn't counted to go towards the support of the child/ THAT alone isn't fair! I think that instaed of having tax payers continue to pay for those of special needs so should any parent who pays child support. Why should tax payers pay for my child when his father SHOULD? I KNOW law makers did not think of this when writting the laws. I'm sure they though people would do the right thing on their own. The world isn't like that anymore. I and others as well feel the law should be changed so that the parents of those with special needs will be cared for by the parents who made them. Public assistance is there and its great as its needed but why not make the parents do their part? These people did not ask for this.
