Sainsbury's are generally quite ethical, as mainstream supermarkets go. They sell organic produce, all of their own-brand household and personal care products are cruelty-free, they sell vegan products, they have food banks and they have high welfare standards for farm animals* for their own-brand products...
However, there is one dirty secret that Sainsbury's, Wickes, Homebase and B&Q all share; they sell Monsanto's Roundup, despite the facts that it kills bees and can cause cancer in humans.
Monsanto, while not all being evil as individuals, are among the most evil companies around. They have been selling bee-killing pesticides and herbicides, causing cancer and deaths of humans, destroying the environment, and fighting for their "rights" to continue doing so. They are an evil company who do not deserve the privilege of being able to sell their products in the UK, or anywhere, for that matter.
If bees went extinct, humanity may only live for about four years. Bees are the primary pollinators for so many of our foods, and they are dying out! We CANNOT let this happen!
Roundup can also cause cancer in humans, which kills and devastates millions of people. It is a tragedy that causes tragedy.
Sainsbury's, Wickes, Homebase and B&Q, please, please prioritise bees and humans over profit! Please, please, PLEASE stop selling Roundup RIGHT NOW!!!!
* As a vegetarian going vegan, I will say that I disagree with raising and killing animals for their meat. I also disagree with the cruelties of dairy, eggs and the killing of fish, as well as the cruelties of honey, wool, etc.
