RENAME 'K' Stand THE JIMMY MURPHY STAND

This man is one of the most important people in the history of Manchester United because he was instrumental in "keeping the Red Flag flying high". After the Munich air disaster the club would have withered and died without the strength & character of this man who single handedly kept the club alive whilst our manager, Sir Matt Busby fought for his life in the Munich Hospital.Much respect to him and come on you reds, let's honour his name and love of his club by renaming the stand. One love, MUFC.

Tune in to Extra Time on Facebook, presented by John Gubba at 9.15pm UK time on Wednesday 27th August, where I explain my quest to have K Stand renamed "The Jimmy Murphy Stand" It's up to us, the die hard fans, to get this petition shared far and wide, so that we can approach the club and present them with a powerful request to honour this legend. It's what, we, the fans, want and it is the right thing to do. Please help me in this quest, by asking all Reds you know to sign this petition.

I have heard it said "there is a Jimmy Murphy Media Centre" at Carrington. This is all well and good but we need his name in the heart of the stadium, just like he was the heart of the team when he steered it through its darkest hours. Without him, there very possibly would not have been the Manchester United we have today. His name must live on for all to see and we can teach our young the story of this great man, so his legacy lives on for future generations. We owe him this much don't we?

Thankyou to all of you that have signed.....much appreciated. Please can you reach out using facebook, twitter accounts & target any blog sites you can think of. I am approaching all my media contacts from the newspapers and TV. We need to get some weight behind this campaign and it would not be possible without each and everyone of you. Keep it going folks and let's get the number of signatures going through the roof!

So chuffed that Jimmy Murphy's grandson, Stephen, has been in touch to thank me for setting up the petition. Will keep you all updated as this mission gains momentum. I will be contacting the media shortly and hopefully get them on our side. Please keep the ball rolling by telling all your family, friends and contacts to visit the e-petition and sign up. What a wonderful tribute this would be to a great man and together we CAN achieve it.
