A leading Member of The American Indian movement has been imprisoned since 1976. Leonard Peltier was illegally extradited from Canada and charged with a crime for which there was there was no proof that he committed.
In February of 1975 Federal agents stormed the Lakota nation at Ogala, South Dakota. A firefight eruptted in which two agents and one Indian were killed. Three A.I.M members were arrested and two of those were acquited. Leonard Peltier remains inprisoned nearly years later after an unfair trial before a jury of non native people.
We demand the immediate release of Our brother leonard and that he be granted executive clemency.
