save the asian elephants!

Asian elephants are one of the most endangered species in the world. Since 1986 asian elephants have been in danger as the population has declined by over 50% over the last 3 generations. They are beautiful animals that do not deserve to die. It would really help us if you signed our petition. Not many people know about how much asian elephants are in risk of becoming extinct so if you signed our petition it would also help people realise how endangered the asian elephants are. More than 100,000 Asian elephants may have existed at the start of the 20th century. The population is estimated to have fallen by at least 50% over the last 60-75 years.
Elephants are dying out for the wrong reasons. Humans are one of the main reasons why they are turning extinct.
Humans are killing elephants for their tusks, because they are so valuable to some people. This trade is illegal today, but it has not been completely eliminated.
There habitats are being knocked down, made into things like fields and villages.

Please sign our petition.

Thank you for reading.
We are a group of year 7 pupils from Bury Church of England High School and we are very worried about the plight of the Asian Elephants. They are dying out very quickly and we are writing this petition to try and convince people to help save the Asian Elephants as they are very endangered through no fault of their own.
Humans are killing them for their tusks, their habitats are being made into fields and some people have the tusks of an elephant hung in their front room.
We understand hunting is already illegal and certain orginisations are doing their very best to help these endangered animals but are restricted due to lack of funding and it would mean alot to us if people would sign our pertition to raise awarness of the asian elephant and other endangered animals.
We have no right to go round killing innocent creatures which do no harm to us.
As the most important man in our country, we hope you can help us to try and make a difference and help these wonderful creatures.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.

Yours sincerely
Hannah Winstanley, Hannah Evans, Beth Owen and Denny Gill.
