Bring “Informing other parents of Lice in classrooms ” policy Back in fall 2019!

The spread of lice became over whelming in the year 2017 - 2019 in Frederick county schools. Children were being sent back to class even after lice were discovered on them by the nurse. Other children in the class were also not checked any time after an infestation was found. Letters or emails were not sent to inform parents of the discovery of lice within classroom and/or school. No information on why it is important to report a lice issue to school, even if the issue was found and resolved at home, is published.
Lice is not a health hazard but it is expensive to treat and is very easily spread.
Reasons the school dismissed the past policies Were to "avoid embarrassment". Our children should instead learn lice is something that happens at no fault to anyone, and the best way to contain spreading is by checking. Please sign the petition to maintain the spread , in the up coming years!

Update #14 years ago
The more people who show concern and sign, the better chances we have to change the board of educations decision. I for one do not want them to continue to hide this from us as well as spread a very contagious parasite. Please share!
