Haud the bus! Save Dumfries & Galloway's Sunday and evening bus services

We, the undersigned, ask that Swestrans and Dumfries & Galloway Council reconsider the drastic cuts to buses in D&G and invest appropriately in this lifeline service.

Due to proposals by Swestrans, this region could be witnessing some of it’s last Sunday and evening buses. With negative impacts on the economy, tourism, students, youth and elderly residents, the Scottish Green Party are asking the region to voice their concerns and speak up for Public Transport.
Already the Scottish Greens have secured a two week stay of execution, amassed hundreds of signatures from numerous bus routes and heard different people share their stories of the difficulty they will be forced to face if they lose their bus service.

To the board of Swestrans and Dumfries & Galloway Council,

We, the undersigned, ask that Swestrans and Dumfries & Galloway Council reconsider the drastic cuts to buses in D&G and invest appropriately in this lifeline service.

These services are a vital lifeline to students, shift workers, the elderly and the local economy. To cut eveing and Sunday bus services will leave many people isolated and unable to work.

We urge you to reconsider the impact to vulnerable communities and invest positively to benefit everyone in D&G.
