Awareness is Power: Battling Breast Cancer

Issue: Most women who have breast cancer do not have a family history of the disease. Annual mammograms can help detect low stage breast cancer even before the age of 40. Stages 1 and 2 are highly curable verses stages 3 and 4 which have a lower survival rate. Even if you are the picture of health, cancer, specifically breast cancer in this instance, can strike anyone at any age.

Solution: Women: Pledge to get a mammogram at age 40 (unless advised to do so earlier). Maintain annual checks-ups. Don't wait if something feels wrong.
Men: Hold your sisters, moms, girlfriends, friends, and wives accountable.
