Dear Caroline Town Board Members,
It has come to our attention that a sizeable retail store is seeking to build on Rt. 79 near the intersection of Landon Rd. We are concerned about how a commercial development such as this will impact the rural character of our community as well as the local economy and environment. We also anticipate serious safety concerns related to pedestrians walking to and traffic turning in and out of this site.
Given that the Town of Caroline is in the process of revising the Comprehensive Plan, we are requesting that the Town respect the integrity of this process and enact a moratorium of new commercial development until stakeholders have been able to provide the input necessary to guide future development in our town, and the Comprehensive Plan is completed.
