A Puppy Was Left in a Plastic Tote to Die. Justice for Journey!

  • by: Care2 Team
  • recipient: Bennettsville Police Department and Marlboro County Officials

Journey was just a tiny puppy when she was found stuffed inside a plastic tote on the side of a road in Bennettsville, South Carolina. Her body temperature had reached a fatal 108 degrees. Despite the efforts of shelter workers and veterinarians, she could not survive. Her short life was marked by cruelty she did not deserve.

Sign now to demand justice for Journey. This man must never again be allowed near animals – and must receive the counseling necessary to confront the violence that led to this tragedy.

Police have charged a man in her abuse, but true justice requires more than just standard charges. We must address the root of this violence to ensure no other animal suffers like Journey did. That means mandatory mental health counseling for the abuser, as well as a lifetime ban on ever owning or caring for animals again. Without these protections, the cycle of cruelty can and will repeat.

Journey's suffering cannot be in vain. Together, we can push Bennettsville and Marlboro County officials to take a stronger stand against animal abuse and set a precedent that protects innocent lives. Sign today to make sure Journey's story leads to change.
