Urgent: Save the Historic Lundy House

The Lundy house (circa 1860 and once a stagecoach stop/hotel) located at 106 Depot Street in Lexington, Mississippi, has been scheduled for demolition on August 26, 2019, by the current owner of the house, Holmes County Bank.

We, the undersigned, stand in support of preserving this historic house, which is listed as part of the Lexington Historic District in the National Register of Historic Places.

The community is working hard to save the Lundy house from demolition. We now have quotes from house moving contractors and know our fundraising goal for phase 1 of moving the house is $60,000 by Nov. 1. Checks can be made to Mississippi Heritage Trust (501c3 tax deductible), P. O. Box 577, Jackson, MS 39205. Link for credit card payment will be forthcoming. All donations are welcome--big or small! Please help us preserve the oldest existing home in Lexington and historical stagecoach stop.
