When walking round Doncaster market place, talking to both traders and shoppers alike, we kept hearing how the market, once the best in the area had changed and not for the better.
Stalls had closed, traders felt abandoned and unlistened to while shoppers had seen a marked decline in choice.
We asked the market traders where they thought things had gone wrong and, of those we spoke with, the answer was clear.
The day the Little Nipper stopped running footfall went down and has never recovered.
For the elderly and those with difficulty in walking, the distance from bus station to market place is a considerable hurdle. The return journey, carrying heavy vegetables and other items is even worse.
For them, we need a frequent shuttle service from station to market and back - what we need is the Little Nipper.
