Hello everyone, I am reaching out to my community because I am a longtime resident of Carioca Ct. and am also a past Tierrasanta Community Council Board Member, including serving 4 years as Tierrasanta Community Council Secretary.
I have a medical condition which is being exacerbated by secondhand smoke and vaping near my home that comes in through my window and causes breathing difficulties. I had to sleep away from home 5 out of the last 7 nights because of this. I cannot smell any smoke now but my airway is in dire straights and I am coughing ongoing from the chemicals in the air (vape).
Let's follow suit with other smoke-free communities like Del Mar, El Cajon, Solana Beach, Hollywood Hills and create a smoke-free neighborhood in Tierrasanta.
There is a City Council meeting that could be a very helpful step in getting this ordinance going, if we as a community say we want this. When I find out when the next City Council meeting is, I will include that information here.
Please come together with me to voice support for creating a smoke-free neighborhood.
I am asking for your help and would dearly appreciate it. I wish for the air in my home to be free of cigarette/tobacco/vape chemicals and breathe easier. Thank you for your understanding and consideration of this very important matter.
