Shoot Poachers On Sight!

The Indian state of Maharashtra allows forest guards to shoot poachers on sight!

Add your name if you want to enable this practice nationwide across India to protect their wildlife and save endangered tigers from extinction!

"A western Indian state has declared war on animal poaching, allowing forest guards to shoot hunters on sight to curb attacks on tigers, elephants and other wildlife.

"The government in Maharashtra says injuring or killing suspected poachers will no longer be considered a crime," reported The Guardian.

This is what protection for wildlife looks like.

STRICT punishment.

The same source added: "Illegal poaching remains a serious threat, with tiger parts sought in traditional Chinese medicine fetching high prices on the black market."

"India is home to about 70 percent of the global tiger population but the population of the endangered animal," reported Mongabay.

That's why it's so important to protect India's tigers.

Three subspecies of tigers became extinct in the 20th century, according to National Geographic.

How long do you think it will be before the others follow?

"Over the last 100 years, hunting and forest destruction have reduced tiger populations from hundreds of thousands of animals to perhaps fewer than 2,500.

"Tigers are hunted as trophies, and also for body parts that are used in traditional Chinese medicine.

"All five remaining tiger subspecies are at-risk," reported National Geographic.

Try to understand just how bad things are...

"In 2018, for the third year in a row, India has recorded at least 100 tiger deaths.

"The total cases of tiger deaths in four years (2015-2018) are 418 which means on an average eight tigers died every month for the past four years," according to Mongabay.

You can clearly see that when there may be as few as 2500 wild tigers left alive, every single death matters A LOT.

The India state of Maharashtra has paved the way by allowing authorities to shoot poachers on sight.

Now the time has come for all of India to step up and do what it takes to save their precious wildlife from being exploited to extinction.

That's why we're calling on two of India's ministers to spearhead a movement within their government to adopt Maharashtra's anit-poaching laws nationwide.

Don't you want to protect India's majestic wildlife and stop tigers from being poached to extinction?

Then add your name to ask Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Indian Minister of Law and Justice; and Shri Prakash Javadekar, Indian Minister of Environment; to take action to allow wildlife poachers to be shot on sight in every part of their country!
