FBI: Stop Raiding Animal Shelters in Search of Two Rescued Piglets

Earlier this year an animal rights activist group entered a hog farm owned by Smithfield Foods in Utah and rescued Lucy and Ethel - two piglets they claim “were rotting to death in piles of their own mother’s feces.” The group had to make a choice, leave them to die like the others they saw, or take them away to a place where they would have a chance. It was a no brainer.

But now, Smithfield Foods wants them back at all costs and they they’ve got the full weight of the US Justice Department behind them. To date, the FBI has raided two animal sanctuaries in two different states.

The agents actually barged in with guns blazing and bullet proof vests. At one facility the agents sliced two hunks out of a pig’s ears for DNA samples, while the pig squealed in pain!

California is burning, Houston, and Puerto Rico are still reeling from some of the worst disasters our country has ever experienced, and the government is wasting valuable resources looking for two neglected piglets and the people who rescued them? What the FBI is doing is not only ridiculous, it’s shameful, and it needs to stop now.

Add your name to the list and tell the FBI to stop this nonsense and let rescued piglets lie. Sign the petition and demand that the FBI halt their search for Lucy and Ethel - the rescue pigs that are lucky to be alive.
