Ban usage of Styrofoam in California

According to the Earth Resource Foundation, about 90,000 workers are exposed to styrene, the main building block of styrofoam. Exposure to this chemical can provoke irritation of the skin, eyes, and upper respiratory tract, and gastrointestinal effects. The EPA and IARC say that this chemical can also cause cancer. As you can see, styrofoam's main component really harms people.

In addition to harming people, styrofoam harms animals. When it breaks up into little pellets, this hazardous waste looks a lot like fish eggs.

Styrofoam is used to make takeout boxes. When food is put into styrofoam containers, extremely toxic chemicals leak into the food. People that have eaten food products that were in styrofoam have had headaches, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea a bit after they ate the food.

Worst of all - Styrofoam is disposed in landfills and is not BioDegradable, releasing air pollutants and impacting the air we breathe.

Don't you want the next many generations to be able to enjoy this planet as you are enjoying it now?

If your answer is Yes - Help us reach a 1000 supporters.

Please take action and ban styrofoam statewide NOW! Some counties and cities in California like San Francisco and Oakland have already banned it; why can’t we ban it statewide? The clock is ticking! The more we wait, the worse the situation gets!
