Don't Deport Kansas Professor and Father Who Has Been in the U.S. for 30 Years

On January 24, Syed Ahmed Jamal was about to take his daughter to school when ICE officials came to his Kansas home and arrested him. Despite having lived in the U.S. for thirty years with no record other than a couple of resolved speeding tickets in his past, Jamal is now facing deportation.

This is about racist cruelty, not about public safety. Please sign this petition urging ICE to let Syed Ahmed Jamal stay in the U.S. where he belongs.

Syed came to the U.S. legally on an international student visa in the 1980s. Since then, he finished his education under various student visas, established a stable career as a chemistry professor, got married, and had three children - all U.S. citizens. Syed was detained for overstaying a voluntary departure notice.

The current administration's crackdown on immigration and immigrants currently living in the U.S. is heartless. There was no real justification for Syed's deportation other than to tear the Jamal family apart and dehumanize Syed. The United States will be not be any safer if Syed is deported.

Please join in standing against bigotry by signing this petition telling ICE not to deport Syed Ahmed Jamal.
