Tell the Utah Government To Address The Deadly Air Quality

The deadly inversion fog hanging over the Wasatch Front that is filled with fine particulate pollution, or PM2.5 is an environmental emergency. People are being urged to limit themselves to exercising indoors, children cannot play outside and emergency rooms have been reporting a spike in visits related to severe breathing problems.

I was raised in Utah and I still have many friends and family there. I hate seeing them suffer the consequences for something the government can easily alter.

The Utah government is trying to push this under the rug when they should have the highest sense of urgency regarding the air everyone has been subject to breathing.

Tell the Utah government to help lower vehicle emissions by issuing discounted or free bus passes and Frontrunner train tickets to everyone in the community.

The Utah government should protect its community by giving out free N-95 Masks until the air is breathable.

Strict residential guidelines are in place for families and individuals. The following is prohibited with hefty fines and penalties in place:

  • Wood Fireplaces

  • Wood Stoves (both EPA certified and non-certified)

  • Pellet Stoves

  • Outdoor Fireplaces or Fire Pits

  • Charcoal Grill

  • Smokers

  • Coal Burning Stoves

Mandatory NO BURN DAYS should apply to LARGE CORPORATIONS AND BIG BUSINESSES as well. There should be legislation in place to prevent mines, refineries and gravel pits from operating and burning on code red days.

The Utah government should stop focusing their efforts on Weed and Alcohol and address the deadly pollution problems.
