Stop Sarasota Government Over Reach

Sattelite surveillance and anonymous paid informants are but two of the aggressive and increasingly sophisticated ways Sarasota County is spying on its residents in attempts to uncover even tiny violations of its ever changing building codes. Homeowners right to quiet enjoyment is being violated by excessive fines and seemingly endless red tape generated by simple maintenance or alterations to their own home.

Replacing some moldy drywall or a rusty rotted door, even something as simple as setting up a store-bought above ground pool, can be enough to bring county inspectors snooping on your property.

It seems homeowners have to ask permission to do almost any kind of maintenance or improvement to their own homes!

Even if you have been completely compliant, anyone can anonymously call the department and report suspicious activity at any point for a cash reward. Literally anyone can become ensnared in Sarasota County Bureaucratic quagmire at any time for anything or nothing and have NO recourse to appeal the waste of their time and money!

Ask governor Scott to stop the overreach and aggressive pursuit of tax-paying homeowners.

End satellite spying

End annomous tip line with rewards

End punitive payment structures (3x fees).

Put an end to Sarasota bureaucratic expansion and over-reach!
