Close Harlow Greyhound Stadium

According to figures from CAGED, so far this year (1st January 2018 - 2nd August 2018) there have been 2,817 collisions, 68 dogs fell, 13 dogs hit the rails and 19 dogs were unable to finish.

Earlier this year a greyhound trainer had his training licence revoked after he refused to provide urine samples from one of his dogs after she won a race in Harlow in May. In 2017 a Harlow greyhound trainer was found guilty at a GBGB discplinary hearing for having a greyhound who tested positive for the drugs Lidocaine and 3-Hydroxylidocaine.

Greyhound racing is nothing more than a sordid industry that relies on gambling to make its money. Not only is the greyhound racing industry known for its callous cruelty and disregard for the dogs it uses and abuses, gambling establishments negatively affect the community as a whole. We are calling on Harlow Council to close this establishment.
