Don't Let Animals Die When US Government Tests End

After tens of thousands of dogs, cats, monkeys, rabbits and other animals are subjected to often cruel experiments at the expense of U.S. taxpayers each year, federal agencies euthanize most of them, even if they're healthy.

But all those lives could be saved if the Animal Freedom from Testing, Experimentation and Research (AFTER) Act, introduced to Congress by Reps. Brendan Boyle (D-PA) and Jackie Walorski (R-IN), is passed.

The AFTER Act would require all federal agencies, including the Department of Defense, EPA and USDA, to have policies that allow animals protected under the Animal Welfare Act that are used in lab testing to be adopted into homes or retired to sanctuaries instead of being killed when the experiments are over.

While prohibiting animal testing altogether would be ideal, the AFTER Act is a very important step forward in saving the lives of thousands of animals subjected to federal experiments funded by American taxpayers.

Please sign and share this petition urging members of the U.S. Congress to help save the lives of laboratory animals by supporting the AFTER Act.
