Let’s Send President Trump and VP Pence to the Moon.

In space, no one can hear you tweet.

In space, you can't harass and assault women or promote white supremacy. You can't endorse pedophiles for the US Senate or collude with a foreign power to influence an election. You can't support deadly LGBTQ "conversion" therapy or shred the social safety net.

My modest proposal on behalf of a weary, worried, and embarrassed nation? Let's send Trump and Vice President Pence to the moon.

In a fully functional democracy, Members of Congress would hold the president accountable for conduct unbecoming the highest elected office in the land. He might even be impeached.

But since lawmakers seem unwilling or unable to hold the president responsible, no matter how bad — or even criminal — his behavior, the nation may need to consider other options.

The president and VP may even warm to the idea. Trump seemed pretty stoked about space, announcing in December 2017 that America will once again send humans to the moon again in preparation for a Mars mission. Vice President Mike Pence is a fan too — so much so that the VP could hardly keep his hands to himself on a recent visit to a NASA lab.

Congress should do its job and hold the president accountable for his behavior. But, given this Congress, maybe it'd just be easier to load them up on supplies and shoot them into space?
