Form a Partnership Between UMKC and Black & Veatch to Increase Women's Participation in EngineeringFields

There are woefully few women in engineering fields, and according to researchers, only 15.2% of women who enter universities with an engineering major actually acquire a degree in engineering within six years. In order to help remove barriers in academic institutions, we as a student body can organize and influence change at UMKC. This can be done by developing partnerships between the soon to be built school of computing and engineering and local engineering firms such as Black & Veatch. These partnerships could take the form of a dual scholarship/internship opportunity aimed towards female engineering majors. Sign the petition so that we can influence positive change at our school!
