Stop Endangering Our Health! Don't Scrap The Clean Power Plan.

90,000 asthma attacks, 300,000 missed work and school days, and 3,600 premature deaths. These are the frightening human costs that the Obama-era Clean Power Plan would have prevented.

But now, Trump's EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt has announced that he will repeal the Clean Power Plan, which was designed to curb the toxic and climate-torching carbon emissions released by power plants.

This administration is hell-bent on propping up big polluters – even if it means sacrificing our health and environment.

With the health impacts of climate change disproportionately impacting communities of color and low-income families, getting rid of the Clean Power Plan is just one more assault on the most vulnerable among us.

Also, if the extreme weather – hurricanes, floods, and wildfires – we've suffered recently have taught us anything, it's that we desperately need stronger climate action, not less.

The EPA is requesting public input now, so it is critical that we demonstrate that there is a large and loud movement that supports the Clean Power Plan and curbing carbon pollution. But it's going to take all of us raising our voices together.

Tell EPA Administrator Pruitt that we won't sit quietly by while this administration scraps the Clean Power Plan and that we support strong action against carbon pollution now!
Subject: Do not repeal the Clean Power Plan

Dear Administrator Pruitt,

I am deeply concerned about the effects of climate change, especially in the wake of extreme weather events that are fueled by a warming world – stronger hurricanes, unprecedented flooding, and raging wildfires.

The Clean Power Plan is the most significant government action to mitigate climate change. We must not change it. If anything, it should be made stronger to even better protect the health our families and communities. Limiting carbon pollution from coal power plants doesn’t just help us fight climate change, the EPA has previously reported that the Clean Power Plan would prevent 90,000 asthma attacks, 300,000 missed work and school days, and 3,600 premature deaths annually by 2030.

Dismantling or repealing the Clean Power Plan, will put the health and well-being of our communities, especially communities of color and low-income families that bear the brunt of climate impacts, further at risk. Millions of Americans count on the government to help protect them from crisis and public health disasters. This is one of those moments: Please do not rescind or dismantle the Clean Power Plan.
