Spain - Allow Catalonia a new, peaceful, independence referendum

Last October 1st, millions of Catalans took to the streets to express their opinion about whether Catalonia should be an independent country or not. But the Spanish Government, far from making things easier allowing the realization of this referendum in order to know the opinion of the Catalans on what should be the future of their land, decided to use brutal police violence to prevent it by all means.

As a Spaniard, I do not agree with the separatists’ reasons, but I will defend to death the right of Catalans to express themselves and decide their future. As the attempt of referendum of last Sunday hadn’t the minimum conditions to convalidate the results, I want to ask the government of Spain to negotiate a referendum with legal guarantees so we can know what are the real feelings of the Catalan about the question, and from there start to talk. Only then we will be able to stop this spiral of hatred and confrontation.

Sign this petition and join me to demand to the government of Mariano Rajoy to begin negotiations to allow a referendum in Catalonia with all the legal guarantees needed.
