Over a million households like mine are at risk of becoming homeless by 2020. Will you help stop it?

Like 1.4m other private tenants, I receive Local Housing Allowance (a type of housing benefit) to help pay my rent. However, since the government froze LHA rates in 2016, and rents have continued to rise, I am now £350 short every month.

People are being forced into homelessness as the burden of their rent becomes too much – and I’m afraid my family will too. Even though I work part-time, I’m getting more and more into debt each month trying to keep our home.

This could all change if the government unfroze LHA in their autumn statement on the 22 November.

If the government unfroze LHA, it would bring immediate relief to renters like me who are living in constant fear of homelessness.

Join me in signing Shelter's petition demanding the Chancellor unfreezes LHA payments in the Autumn Budget.
