Tell Washington Politicians: Quit Playing Politics with Conservation Plans

Americans came together in 2015 to form landmark plans that conserve over 65 million acres in the West for the greater sage-grouse and the 350 species that share its unique habitat. Washington politicians have tried to undermine the agreement ever since.

Time and again hundreds of thousands of Americans have sent the same message: communities throughout the West and Americans across the country want to save this irreplaceable landscape.

Hunters, ranchers, landowners, small business owners, outdoor recreationists, conservationists and wildlife lovers will continue to make it clear: we need to give the existing plans a chance to work. We've been sending the same message to two administrations now. We hope this time you decide to listen to us by giving the existing plans, which were driven by and done in collaboration with local communities, the opportunity to work.

For the sake of the 350 plant and wildlife species to the many communities that rely on a healthy ecosystem, the US Forest Service must reconsider. We only request that this time, you consider what the public wants.

We know we've asked before, but we need you to send this message one more time!

Dear Chief Thomas Tidwell:

The future of conservation and protection efforts in regards to the hundreds of species that inhabit the millions of acres in the West, notably the greater sage-grouse, have never been more at risk. Three years ago, passionate Americans collaborated and created

The plans presently in place allow Americans to enjoy these lands, while also safeguarding the sage-grouse. In turn, this secures the other wildlife present in this region. Therefore, these plans perfectly intersect and uphold the interests of the public while maintaining the wellbeing of the wildlife and habitat.

Because of this, I am apprehensive about altering the framework that is already in place. Any amendments would unbalance the sufficient plans that were crafted by devoted hunters, ranchers, landowners, small business owners, outdoor recreationists, conservationists and wildlife lovers. For this reason, the existing plans must continue to serve this region; as they have shown their success throughout the years.

I urge Chief Thomas Tidwell to recognize the success of the present-day plans and continue to uphold them.
