1 million children in Gaza are at risk of starving to death

Over 17,000 children have been killed since the start of the war in Gaza and thousands more are now starving to their death. Famine is closing in. Hospitals lie in ruins. And life-saving aid is stuck at the border. This is not just a humanitarian crisis, it is the systemic erosion of what makes us human.

Sharaf Al Faqawi, Humanity & Inclusion's Manager in Gaza sees first-hand how humanitarian workers who are trying to save the sick and vulnerable are now themselves falling victim to hunger after collapsing from starvation.

"Just like the over 2 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, we humanitarian workers are also being starved, displaced and killed." Sharaf explains. "For almost two years now, every single day, we must juggle between surviving this war, caring for ourselves and families, and serving the most vulnerable. Hunger has reached its peak, with children and babies dying of starvation.

"There is no food, clean water, medicine, fuel among other basic needs. Hundreds are being killed at militarised aid distribution sites, it's a tough choice of dying of hunger or getting killed while trying to get food."

We are now at the peak level of starvation in Gaza, where people are literally starting to drop dead on the streets. We don't have the luxury of time. What we are witnessing is an unprecedented man-made humanitarian crisis that is deteriorating daily, and this is allowed by impunity and inaction. We need to say enough is enough.

We need States to take concrete actions. Please sign our petition to demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire and access to life-saving aid without limitation or impediments.
