People spend millions on coffee. Yet farmers live in poverty. You can help!

Coffee is a part of the morning ritual of millions of people around the world. And yet most of the hard-working men and women who grow it are stuck in a cycle of poverty.

Most coffee farmers grow their crops on small plots of land that they depend on for their family's survival. Because they are poor, they are often forced to sell their beans to middlemen who, in turn, sell it to big coffee companies that, in turn, sell it for a huge profit that coffee farmers never get to see.

What's more, the children of coffee farmers see their parents struggle and opt out of the family tradition of growing coffee, putting future supply at serious risk.

It doesn't seem fair, does it, that the morning drink so many people love has little to no benefit to the people who grew it?

Lutheran World Relief works with coffee farmers around the world to push back against this injustice by helping coffee farmers realize more profit from their coffee beans. From the ground up, Lutheran World Relief transforms the lives of farmers by training them to grow coffee to the highest possible standards. Lutheran World Relief also supports farmer cooperatives, which have better marketing and collective selling power, and promotes responsible consumerism within the United States, inspiring people to know and care about where their coffee comes from, who grew it, and how their purchase makes an impact.

The future of the coffee industry depends on farmers being able to support their families from the sale of their beans. It also depends on their children seeing a future for themselves in coffee farming.

Sign this petition and pledge in support of coffee farmers, who deserve their fair share of the earnings from their crops and hard work.
