Tell Iceland: Stop Killing Endangered Whales!

For two years, endangered fin whales have gotten a break from Icelandic harpoons.

But the Hvalur whaling company just announced plans to resume hunting fin whales in June. If Hvalur has its way, the company could kill more than 209 endangered fin whales this summer.

The new quotas -- the highest in decades -- are not approved by the International Whaling Commission (IWC) and are in defiance of the IWC global moratorium on commercial whaling.

Speak out now and send a message to Icelandic President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson demanding that the government observe international law and prevent this slaughter.

Dear President Jóhannesson,

I'm appalled at the news that Hvalur wants to resume the hunt for endangered fin whales this summer.

The new quotas -- the highest in decades -- are not approved by the International Whaling Commission (IWC) and are in defiance of the IWC global moratorium on commercial whaling.

Known for its stunning beauty, Iceland is one of the greenest countries in the world. Commercial whaling is a blight on its environmental reputation. You have the power to change that and save these majestic creatures. It's the right move for the whales, for the millions of people who love them, and ultimately for Iceland.
