Help Change the World for Animals like Wallace

Wallace was only four weeks old when he arrived at Calgary Humane Society. Injured by a car and being attacked by birds, the tiny kitten was saved by a kind passerby who rushed Wallace to the shelter where our veterinary team provided immediate care.

Unfortunately, Wallace's front leg was damaged beyond repair, but with stitches and proper care his back leg could recover. Amputation of his badly damaged front leg would give little Wallace the best possible chance at a long and pain-free life. Following surgery, Wallace received loving care and attention from one of our Animal Health Technologists who was quite taken with the handsome little feline.

Throughout his entire ordeal Wallace never lost his purr. Due to his surgery, Wallace required rehabilitation and recovery time before he was ready for adoption and our veterinary team requested foster care for him. Wallace's foster mom worked with him to build up strength in his legs and helped him adjust to life on three paws.

Today, Wallace has shown himself to be a spunky, loving and sometimes mischievous kitten that loves to play and cuddle. Thanks to the generous support of animal lovers like you, little Wallace learned that even a missing leg would not hold him back from the love he deserved.

Calgary Humane Society cannot celebrate success like Wallace's without support from people like you.
