Don't Dismantle the Endangered Species Act!

Agencies under Secretary Zinke's Department of the Interior are trying to dismantle the Endangered Species Act – piece by piece.

The US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are seeking to make major changes that could mean a longer wait – and less space – for wildlife in need.

For the first time since the Act was introduced over 40 years ago, Interior agencies want to build economic impacts into the decision on whether an animal needs protection. This would complicate the process, cost agencies untold time and resources, and most tragically, make wildlife in need continue to decline while they wait. If that wasn't bad enough, the proposal could also limit critical habitat where protected species can safely live.

Tell USFWS and NOAA – Protect wildlife when they need it and give them space to recover!
