Tell EPA: Protect Our Children From Toxic Chemicals

It's time to put our children over polluters.

The EPA is violating bipartisan legislation passed in 2016 to update our chemical safety system by ignoring key sources of exposure to chemicals linked to cancer and other health impacts.

Instead of doing what the updated toxics law requires, the Trump EPA is giving in to the chemical industry and dangerously bypassing many known sources of chemical exposure for the top 10 chemicals, all which have been linked to serious health concerns.

Tell EPA that parents won't stand for it. We must protect our children from toxic chemicals.
Subject: Parents urge EPA to fully assess chemical exposures

Dear Acting Administrator Wheeler,

As a parent, I am concerned about EPA's decision to ignore key sources of exposure for the first 10 chemicals being evaluated under the bipartisan 2016 toxics law.

Science has shown that we are exposed to industrial chemicals through many routes, and that combined exposure is what matters to our health. Ignoring long-term and low-level exposures from multiple uses and sources threatens the health of our families. We deserve to know the true risks these chemicals pose to the health of our children as well as solutions to address these threats.

EPA must fully assess chemical exposures to ensure that our children are safe in the places they live, learn, and play. Ignoring the known routes of exposure to these chemicals will severely underestimate their actual threat to public health and will put American lives at risk.
