Kitten and Dog Found Dead in the Freezer of House of Horrors. Over 100 Other Neglected Animals Close to Death.

Neglect of pets is always hard to read about. But the details of a recent case just north of Denver, Colorado are especially harrowing.

After authorities received a tip about suspected abuse and neglect, they rushed to a shocking scene in Northglenn. Before even entering the house, the smell of the feces was noticeable outside. Ammonia levels outside of the home were four times higher than the threshold that is considered toxic for pets.

Inside, the horrors continued. Dozens and dozens of cats and dogs were found living in absolutely dangerous conditions, with feces literally piling up on the floor, sometimes several inches high.

One poor, 8-week-old kitten was found wrapped in a Dorito's bag in the freezer, dead.

A small dog was also found in the freezer, deceased and wrapped in a blanket.

Sign now to tell Northglenn authorities: require the alleged abusers to get mental health counseling and institute a lifetime ban on animal ownership!

Luckily, the local animal shelter was able to respond to the situation and house the poor surviving 96 cats and 19 dogs. It will take a long time for them to emotionally and physically recover.

And two animals are lost forever.

Authorities filed over 100 counts of animal cruelty against the owners of the home. But if we want to ensure this never happens again, we've got to get the accused folks access to mental health counseling and ensure that they are banned from ever owning animals again in the future.

Northglenn authorities must require mental health counseling for the people accused of this abuse and institute a lifetime ban on animal ownership! Sign the petition now if you agree!
