Tell Congress: Reject Trump’s $500 billion slush fund for corporations. That’s not emergency relief!

Congress has reconvened to pass a second round of emergency relief in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. Unlike the first package however, in which Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi negotiated a bill that targeted struggling families and laid off workers, this bill was crafted by Mitch McConnell. And that's never a good thing.

Democrats are blocking the bill because McConnell has included a $500 billion slush fund that can be used by Trump's Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin to bail out corporations with no restrictions, no transparency, and no accountability.

The so-called "Exchange Stabilization Fund" is ostensibly designed to prop up failing industries, but as Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) pointed out, it would actually "create a slush fund for Donald Trump and his family, or a slush fund for the Treasury Department to be able to hand out to their friends."

At a time of great national emergency, it is unacceptable for Republicans to use the occasion to pad the pockets of the already wealthy, and it is a disgrace that they are holding real relief hostage to get their corrupt deal done. Americans need help!

Add your name to demand the Senate reject Trump's $500 billion slush fund for corporations. Pass a relief bill that helps America's workers and families!
