Right now, fish stocks are collapsing, plastics are choking our oceans, and seafood workers are at risk of labor and human rights abuses.

The good news is we can each make a difference by choosing a supermarket that sells sustainable and ethical fish. Supermarkets, which are part of most of our everyday lives, can play a big role in protecting marine life from destructive fishing and plastic pollution.

To help you get started, Greenpeace has created the Healthy Oceans Shopping Guide. The guide ranks 22 major U.S. supermarkets based on the sustainability and social responsibility of their seafood.

We can each use our buying power to ensure healthy oceans teeming with marine life, where seafood workers are treated fairly, and coastal fishers are able to provide for their families without suffering exploitation from industrial fishing fleets.
