We, the undersigned, are outraged by the mishandling of this case against Michael Morton.
Even if Ken Anderson did not withhold important evidence that might have spared Morton 25 years of incarceration, Anderson's advice to his successor to block a request for DNA testing for six years is inexcusable - inexcusable on both Anderson's and Bradley's parts and on the part of the State of Texas.
We agree with the Innocence Project that this case "calls out for strong action."
What's more, it screams out for reform of the Texas Judicial System, and we agree with IP that laws are needed that "guarantee defense lawyers access to all evidence that may point to innocence."
Please see their webpage on this case for more recommendations. http://www.innocenceproject.org/Content/Innocence_Project_Asks_Texas_Court_to_Officially_Exonerate_Michael_Morton_of_the_1987_Murder_of_His_Wife.php
First and foremost, we request that Judge Ken Anderson (and Bradley as well) face appropriate consequences for any confirmed misconduct regarding Morton's or any other case, including their disbarment and removal from office.
Thank you for you attention to this very serious matter.
